529 accounts are notoriously tricky to set up directly with state treasury departments and there's a lot of decisions to make about which state is right for you. Raise Education takes all the guesswork out of this process and handles it for you.
However, we have some competitors! Most of our competitors will perform the account set up for you as well, but their pricing model is often constructed in a way that we feel penalizes you for saving. Here's some examples of how our competitors operate:
They charge subscription fees for having accounts - we don't, all our accounts are free to create
They charge you for each account you create - we don't, you can create as many as you'd like for free
They change a "management fee" from the profits your account earns over time - we don't, management fees take money our of your earnings, thus resulting in less money in your pocket over time. We we think this is unfair and predatory.
They charge you to contribute - we don't, you're always able to contribute to your own account entirely for free. We only charge friends and family when they contribute to your plan a nominal, flat 5% fee.
